Reminder Gold Presentation Series #3
he major downturn in South African gold production has been the backdrop for the
International Gold Series, but not the sole driver of the presentations going back to 2022. The aim of the 2026 follow-up gold series is to more broadly revisit old paradigms, and facilitate renewed interest in new scientific analysis and interpretations of gold deposits.
Key premises are that discovery of new goldfields would increase production, and that
innovative gold science might take us towards new discoveries, including in the Witwatersrand Basin. The Overberg Geoscientists Group has combined forces with the University of Melbourne Geology of GOLD course and Stellenbosch University to draw on their collaborators with broad knowledge of global gold types and processes.
