Manufacturing exceptional gemstone diamonds by Gregory Katz

Greg is third-generation diamond expert and graduate gemologist with over 40 years of experience in the business. Since working as a schoolboy in the family-owned diamond and jewelry business, Greg has continued to build on his experience and technical expertise. He has formed valuable strategic alliances and relationships of trust with respected international diamond companies.

Over the past 20 years, Greg has concentrated on purchasing and manufacturing exceptional diamonds, primarily from the unique alluvial land and marine diamond deposits of South Africa (see Figure 1 below). This passion began with the purchase of two large fancy rough yellow diamonds of 62 and 36 carats in 1985. Forty-one years later, he is still fascinated by fancy-colored diamonds, the uniqueness of each stone that he has purchased, cut and sold, including 15 gem-quality rough diamonds of over 100 carats.
